Why is it that when faced with an emotional crisis – we try and fix our own problems? As Christians we know God is there to help anytime day or night, yet instead of turning to Him first, we try to get out of the mess ourselves and end up only making it worse! When we awaken in the night with cold sweats because we’re filled with fear, when we’ve reached the end of our "financial rope," when our closest friend walks away, or we receive devastating news . . . we need to fall on our knees and go to Jesus FIRST! Instead of feeling sorry for ourselves and attending the “Why Me Party,” send an SOS to heaven! Being a Christian does not give us a free pass to a world without pain! The truth is, Satan works even harder on those who love the Lord! He will work overtime to push every button we have that separates us from Jesus – because when he accomplishes that goal – He wins! There’s only one way to live a joy-filled life and that is to put God first! When we make Jesus the center of everything we do – we can stop worrying and enjoy the abundant life God has planned!
